Criply is a collection of free online file tools — for PDFs, images, and business documents. No account, no waiting, no bloat. We built it because we got tired of everything else.
Why our team built this
Our team got tired of the same cycle. You need to compress a PDF. You search for a tool. You land on a site that demands an account before it will even show you the upload button. Or it is embarrassingly slow for something this simple. Or the UI looks like it has not been touched in a decade.
Smallpdf makes you sign up. Adobe Acrobat is expensive and heavy for casual use. iLovePDF works but buries you in ads. PDF24 is solid but sluggish. We wanted something that respected your time: open the page, do the thing, get your file, move on.
So we built Criply. Fast. Clean. Genuinely free for the tools that should be free.
Independent and bootstrapped
Criply is self-funded. We have no venture capital, no investors to answer to, and no growth-at-all-costs mandate pushing us to monetise your data. Our incentives are simple: build tools people find useful, keep them free, and make enough to cover the costs of running the service.
That independence is what lets us say no to things like mandatory sign-ups, aggressive upsells, and the kind of dark patterns that erode trust over time.
What we believe
- Tools should work on the first try. If you need to compress a PDF, you should be able to do it in under a minute with no friction.
- Free should mean free. Not free for three files, not free until you hit a size limit, not free until we decide otherwise. Free.
- Privacy is not a feature — it is a baseline. Client-side tools never leave your device. Server-side tools delete your files immediately after processing. We do not read, index, or sell what you upload.
- Simple beats clever. Our tools do one thing and do it well. We do not add features because we can — we add them because they genuinely save time.
Privacy-first by design
Most file tools process everything on their servers and keep your data longer than necessary. We designed Criply differently. Where possible, processing happens entirely in your browser — your file never leaves your device. Where server processing is unavoidable, files are deleted the moment your result is ready.
We do not build profiles. We do not sell data. We do not use your files to train anything. The only analytics we collect is anonymous, aggregated usage data to understand which tools are popular.
